visualisation for babel

An other school assignment during my second year at Sint-Lukas in Brussels! For the Media course, I was always looking for new ways to visualise information. During this assignment, we (the students) were given four movies, and it was our task to visualise a data analyzation of that movie. Babel, a so called mosaic movie, by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (2006), is easily divided in parts and can be analysed in different ways. I chose to work with the sound, which plays a strong role throughout the movie. In this digital application, I combined the worlds of processing, illustrator and html (there is actually some javascript in there too). The application is pretty straightforward, and visualises the sound of each chapter, the characters, music and the ambient noise. See the full digital application here.
